Project Name: Strengthening and Expansion of the Eastern Section of the Dalu Line Canal, Section No. 3
Venue: Shanghai, Pudong district, st. Tongyuan East
Selected model: CAT 374 + VIBRA FV-700
Project Description
In October 2024, a new generation CAT®374 excavator with a VIBRA FV-700 series four-eccentric rig was deployed for offshore piling work on the Pudong Airport Canal Expansion Project.
For immersion, steel pipes with a diameter of 630 mm (length 27 m) and 816 mm (length 22 m) were used. Marine conditions placed high demands on the stability of the equipment.
Instead of a standard hydraulic vibratory hammer, the FV-700 pile hammer was used, which, thanks to the super-powerful exciting force of 915 kN in combination with the high productivity of the CAT 374, provided:
Efficient and fast driving of piles;
Reducing the amount of required equipment;
Daily productivity up to 50–60 piles;
Stable operation even in difficult sea conditions.
